When heat is applied to printed paper that is in contact with a product, the ink transforms from a solid to a gaseous state and penetrates the surface permanently. This kind of technology is applied to goods that are either constructed with fibres made especially for the purpose or that are treated with a substance that enhances printing. The graphics will stay in the products permanently and retain their intensity thanks to the sublimation technology. Fabrics will still contain the ink even after several washings, unlike with other printing methods.
